Here are some tips that I used to help you achieve great success!
Took through Latin AP Latin. It has done wonders for his vocabulary, which has helped her ace in the reading comprehension section of the SAT exam. I promised her that he could study in any other language, once finished with the Latin and that he had collected more easily when it did.
Your GPA will be for all practical purposes be disregarded by admissions. It ‘s too hard for admission to the college to ensure that the examinations were proctored, not timed and open book. Know this and realize that SAT scores will be weighted more heavily. You need to ace the SAT or ACT exam.
Follow AP courses. The standardized, timed and proctored testing for AP courses will demonstrate that the material burned and can make it difficult, college-level work. You want to get 5 on your AP exam so make sure you leave time to take several practice exams! Princeton Review is usually the same level of difficulty as the actual exam, and Barron’s practice tests are usually more difficult. Barron are great for when you have finished exams and College Board exams Princeton Review for students who aim to perfect score!
Online schools do not emphasize the need to end the first week of the program of studies examining the AP in order to study and prepare. The exam is the first weekend in May, so start the course early to late August and be completed by April. Have you left a whole month for the practical test!
Balance the course load. Do not take so many AP you can not do your best in all of them. My daughter took a year sophomore, junior 3 years and 2 years of high school. It took only 3 AP exams, getting all 3 of 5 years and was named an AP Scholar! She did not support the AP exams senior year, was already in Harvard!
Prepare for the SAT or ACT during the summers, BEFORE junior year!
During the school year will be too busy with extra-curricular activities and study effectively for the SAT. You must take 8 SAT practice exams! Correct each one before taking the next examination to learn from their mistakes. Preparation before the third year will also help you ace the PSAT exam on the first year in the month of October!
Send a brag sheet for anyone who writes a college recommendation for you so that you are aware of all your accomplishments. Do not assume you know!
